Founders Federal Credit Union
We presented our process and concepts to the client this past Monday and I believe we blew them away. Eddie is trying to incorporate the Design Methodology in this process. We established the project goals and parameters from the Visioning session we had and developed the concepts around those. These boards show some of the results of the programming interiors has completed and the client is currently validating. The owner has invited us to come to their board meeting tomorrow and present the process and final concepts to the board. The Advantages of Closing a Few Doors
"Xiang Yu was a Chinese general in the third century B.C. who took his troops across the Yangtze River into enemy territory and performed an experiment in decision making. He crushed his troops’ cooking pots and burned their ships. He explained this was to focus them on moving forward — a motivational speech that was not appreciated by many of the soldiers watching their retreat option go up in flames. But General Xiang Yu would be vindicated, both on the battlefield and in the annals of social science research."

Exploit Me! : A Designer's Guide to Surviving Design Competitions
"If you're in it for the money, you're doing it for the wrong reason. While there are some pretty good prizes out there (Dell is offering $25,000 to the overall Re-Generation winner), the real benefits of a good contest are available to all entrants. The trick is not to view it as an employment opportunity, because it's not; it's a professional development and marketing tool."

Urgent Care Redefined :: Identity Development
As we set to develop a new identity for Concentra Little developed a framework to focus our exploration around the aspirational attributes that define this brand while maintaining as much of the equity Concentra has built over time. First we audited the existing logo and provided options for a new way of structuring their Brand Architecture so that Concentra can grow in an orderly way. Then we identified other industries as a frame of reference for a benchmark study in an effort to visually compare other logotypes. Finally, we grouped the brand attributes in discreet sets, each of which elicit a distinct stylistic approach and then we developed logo options in order to visualize each of these concepts. The following are the themes: 1. HUMAN TOUCH & FEELING 2. MEDICAL & QUALITY 3. URGENCY & ACCESS The next step in the development of this new identity for Concentra will be to refine the presented options so that we can delve into an in-depth color studies and specific logo applications. | - |
