The Power of Green

The best introduction to this article is the first paragraph.

"One day Iraq, our post-9/11 trauma and the divisiveness of the Bush years will all be behind us — and America will need, and want, to get its groove back. We will need to find a way to reknit America at home, reconnect America abroad and restore America to its natural place in the global order — as the beacon of progress, hope and inspiration. I have an idea how. It’s called 'green.' " (Article by Thomas L. Friedman, courtesy of nytimes.com)

Raise the price; make a sale

Sharp Number n. A precise or unrounded number.

Example Citations:
You're selling your house. You set the asking price at a nice round figure—$420,000, let's say. But if you had chosen to list the house for $420,399—almost $400 more—your chances of finding a buyer just might improve.

Only in the UK

PRETTY POLLY BILLBOARD (UK)
E-mail Wednesday, 29 November 2006

http://www.thecoolhunter.net/images/stories/_2006/IMAGES2/ukbillboard.jpg

The billboard has long been one of the most powerful forms of location advertising. Just think of New York’s Time Square – many a car accident has been caused be motorists loosing concentration because they’re attention has
been captivated by a ten storey high image of Madonna, Kate Moss or Calvin Klein’s latest sex-god male model.

If it hasn’t already caused any accidents we’re predicting that this sexy new billboard ad in the UK for underwear brand Pretty Polly will have cars thumping into each other in no time. The six storey ad features a leggy model wearing a skirt made from real material which, when sent north by the wind reveals her sexy black tights. We love it. by Lisa Evans

400 seconds - 20 images - Design Forum NY

Please read article on link attached.
Pretty cool idea.

Anyone interested in doing something like this in our meetings? It could help us learn more about what intrigues us, inspires us and impacts the way we think and work.

Exerpt from it:
"It's architecture’s version of speed dating. At Pecha Kucha, an event born in Tokyo in 2003 and introduced to New Yorkers in September, architects are allowed 400 seconds to show 20 images of their work. “There’s no saying ‘back’ to the projectionist,” explains Klein Dytham Architecture principal Mark Dytham, who began organizing the events with partner Astrid Klein. Indeed, the projectionist changes the slide every 20 seconds, ready or not."

ham or turkey?

ham is considered the other white, while the traditional turkey is the first white meat. many consider the added benefits of using ham as the first alternative to the turkey for taste as well as the historical probelems of the "dry" turkey that is served - and we dare say - chokes the old granny.
